India Baby!

India Baby!

I wonder, when someone mentions India to you what is the first thing that pops into your head? My guess is that colour would be one of the words that comes to mind. India is all about the colour on so many levels.

I have just had the pleasure of spending a delightful (if a bit hot and sweaty!) two weeks travelling around the south of this beautiful country. I have been to India before but only ever explored the north with a quick visit to Goa. This time I was really interested to see the differences/similarities to the northern parts I have experienced previously. I already love the country and the people having grown up in the midst of an Indian and Pakistani community, eaten the food, worn the clothes and soaked in every inch of the culture I could. I almost feel half asian even though I am born and bread British. I think that says something good about the great bits of my home country that for me asian culture has always been so normal and part of life.

So over the next few weeks I want to take you with me on a voyage of discovery and share the things I have seen and places I have visited and some of the food I have eaten. Hopefully I will also develop some new recipes inspired by this trip which I would love for you to try. And for my friends and loved ones expect quite a lot of spicy food for the near future.

So for now I will leave you with a riot of colour from this amazing place, enjoy.
